June 13, 2010 at 2:57 am
Hehe thanks HoJo!
These days, I’m kinda moving on from Vancouver 2010 pins to Singapore 2010, Expo 2010, & London 2012 pins.. hehe!

LOL, I’m surprised to see the simplified chinese on the boxed pin set. I would’ve figured they would use the traditional characters instead.
June 14, 2010 at 1:54 am
Oh~ you didn’t know? In Singapore, kids learn with the simplified Chinese characters at school, as our 2nd language. hehe
June 14, 2010 at 11:26 pm
wow….I wonder if there’s any place in the world where they teach traditional now O_O;;; Yeah, I’m not familiar with “Singaporean” chinese. LOL
June 15, 2010 at 12:27 am
hehe.. I think HK & Taiwan still teach with traditional Chinese characters? Not too sure though..
But learning Chinese was already pretty difficult for me, even with the simplified characters. I can only imagine how much harder it would’ve been if I had to learn it with the traditional characters! LOL! >.<"

As cute as the pins are, I hope they have’ll different poses of the mascots for other pins. Seems like they’re recycling the same ones over and over. I think I’ve only seen 3 differnent poses for each mascot so far? -_-;;
June 16, 2010 at 3:10 am
Lol.. I’ve noticed that too!
Hmm.. I’ve also only seen 3 different poses for each of Lyo & Merly so far – the standard one that’s seen in most of the pins, a different one seen in the 4-piece Multi-language box set, and yet another different one seen in the Chinese New Year set (which you managed to get.. lucky you!!)
I do hope they’ll release more pins of the mascots in different poses!

Hi Vanessa,
Sorry, I don’t get what you mean? Did you have a question about the Singapore pins?
July 25, 2010 at 2:06 am
Hmm… how do you obtain pins? Is there like a place to buy any?
October 12, 2010 at 4:32 am
Hi myop,
I’m not sure if they are still available at those locations now.
Yep, I believe you can still purchase the Singapore YOG pins online at the official Singapore 2010 YOG online store.
All of my Singapore 2010 pins (with the exception of the few non-retail ones) were bought from the actual retail locations in Singapore, by my parents when they were visiting there a few months ago.
Good luck finding the pins you want!
Cheers!

Hi Johari,
Which YOG pin are you referring to?
For most of the pins I have pictured here, they were bought from the retail locations in Singapore when my parents visited there a few months ago.
I believe you can still purchase the Singapore YOG pins online at the official Singapore 2010 YOG online store.
Hope this helps!
Cheers

Hi WeiQi,
That pin set is super cute, eh? I believe it might be sold out right now.. I’m not sure if there are still retail locations in Singapore selling YOG merchandise now that the games are over.
If you are interested, I do have an extra set that I could sell you, but it would have to be shipped since I am living in Canada. You can email me @ superquatchi AT gmail.com if you like.
Cheers!

Hmmm, I’m a volunteer for SYOG in the CEP (World Culture Village), and just wanted to tell you that if you had the red map piece (showing Olympic Villoge), it’s rare now. They did a typo on the “Villoge”, and it’s no longer on sale!
October 12, 2010 at 11:49 pm
Hi Chun Chuan, thanks for that tidbit of info on the map pin!
Unfortunately, I’d only managed to get my hands on the first map piece! All the other ones were released after my folks had left Singapore, so I wasn’t able to obtain them.. >.<"
As a YOG volunteer, I'm sure you must've gotten quite a handful of unique & rare pins yourself! Do share some pics (email me!) if you have the time to do so; I'd love to see them!

The Map Pin featuring the Village is now re-released with a small amount available!

Hi Victor,
